Mizzima – It is learnt from the statement of the Special Operations Force (SOF) that Tatmadaw (Nay Pyi Taw army) troops who abandoned and fled Lay Ke camp near Lay Ke village in Bilin Township, Mon State, were pursued and attacked yesterday (April 13), resulting in seven killed and two captured alive.

The SOF statement says:

“On the day before the Thingyan festival, junta soldiers who fled the Lay Ke camp in Bilin Township were pursued and destroyed, with seven junta soldiers killed and two captured alive.”

In terms of weapons, it is reported that one MA4 (NPR), one MA2 (machine gun), four MA3 rifles, three MA1 rifles, 1,200 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, 200 7.62 mm mortar shells, five hand grenades, ten ammunition boxes, one radio, and some other military equipment were seized.

The frontline Lay Ke camp, which was established by Deputy Battalion Commander Major Aung Zaw Moe of the 2nd Light Infantry Battalion (Khamanar‑2) under Tatmadaw Battalion 44, was captured by revolutionary allied forces on April 12.

It is reported that during that camp‑capture battle, Deputy Battalion Commander Major Aung Zaw Moe and one soldier were captured alive, and weapons and ammunition were also seized.

The Lay Ke camp capture operation is said to have been carried out jointly by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), the All‑Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF), and People’s Defence Force (PDF) battalions under Special Regional Command Strategy 37 and Strategy 27, along with the Special Operations Force (SOF), the Yangon Region PDF attack line, the UOC attack line, the FFD drone unit, the Red Wing drone unit, the Cloud Wings drone unit, and the KRF drone unit.

At present it is reported that the Tatmadaw is attempting to recapture that camp by advancing a ground‑assault line from the Winta Pan village side, and is also continuing aerial attacks over Lay Ke village, Myit Kyo village, and the surrounding areas.
