On 28 March 2026, time of day unclear, a US and/or Israeli jet attacked the local water storage facility and the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation facilities and other unspecified targets in Haftkel (Haftgol, Khuzestan), causing a large explosion. Israel and the United States launched this joint operation, codenamed 'Roaring Lion' by Israel and 'Epic Fury' by the United States Department of Defense on 28 February 2026. Casualties unknown.
