Bomb (Air Delivered) event in Seikkhun area, Myanmar on Mon 13th April 2026

Local residents said that the military carried out airstrikes on the monastery in Seik Kwan village and the school in Than Zin village in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in 2 novice monks passing away and 16 monks and 5 civilians sustaining injuries.
Around 3:20 p.m. on April 13, a MiG fighter jet from Meiktila Air Base circled the two neighboring villages for quite some time before dropping 5 bombs, according to a local resident.
A bomb landed and exploded inside the monastery in Seik Kwan village, causing two novice monks, aged 29 and over 50, to succumb to shrapnel injuries; one passed away at the scene, and the other at Shwebo Hospital upon arrival.
In addition, 16 other novice monks were injured, and the two-story monastery building, dining hall, and water wells were also destroyed, confirmed by a local resident.
