SAA event in Brazil on Mon 30th March 2026

A 38-year-old man was shot dead in front of a bar in Japeri, in Rio de Janeiro state's Baixada Fluminense region. According to reports, armed suspects arrived in a vehicle, got out, and opened fire on the victim at the entrance of the establishment. He was killed instantly at the scene. The attackers fled immediately after the shooting. The victim has been identified as Leonardo da Rosa Anjos (known locally as “Léo Perneta”), and he was reportedly with friends at the time. The motive remains unknown, and the case is under investigation by the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Division. Security cameras in the area captured the incident.
