IED event in Huixiopa, Badiraguato, Mexico on Sat 11th April 2026
11th April 2026
A discovery that reveals the technological warfare being waged by armed groups in the northwest of the country. The Mexican Army confirmed on April 10, 2026, the seizure of 69 improvised explosive devices in two separate operations in Sinaloa. Badiraguato (Potrero de la Vainilla and Huixiopa): - 51 homemade explosives - 2 long guns - 33 magazines - 1,870 cartridges Culiacán (Col. La Limita de Itaje): - 18 explosives adapted for drones - Camouflaged under dry branches in a cardboard box This publication consulted an organized crime specialist, who was direct: the use of explosives with stabilizing fins launched from commercial drones is not improvisation, it is tactical evolution. The conflict between factions of the Sinaloa Cartel is turning civilian areas into war zones with dual-technology weaponry. No arrests were made. All the material was seized: the explosives for controlled destruction; the weapons turned over to the Attorney General's Office. The state won this battle. The war, not yet.
