High-Powered Weapons Found in Home in Zone 18. The National Civil Police located high-powered weapons inside a home in the Las Tapias neighborhood, Zone 18 of Guatemala City, during an operation carried out by specialized units. Inside the house, they found a grenade launcher, five assault rifles, a submachine gun, four pistols, a revolver, ammunition, 40mm grenades, and bulletproof vests, arranged on sheets, a mattress, and the floor, according to images released by DIPANDA agents. One person was arrested at the scene, and subsequent reports link a couple to local distribution networks. "All of that was in here; I've never seen so much," commented a resident of the area while observing the police operation from the sidewalk. The property was placed under police guard, and the weapons were packaged for transfer to the appropriate facilities.
