The #Masam project destroyed 1,696 pieces of war remnants in Ghayl Bin Yamin district. Emergency teams from the Masam demining project in Yemen, in cooperation with the Executive Mine Action Center's Mukalla branch, carried out an operation today (Wednesday) to destroy 1,696 pieces of mines and war remnants. The project's media center stated that the destroyed materials included various shells, mines, and rockets, as follows: 1,320 rounds of 12.7 mm ammunition, 220 assorted mortar shells, 11 RPG rounds, 56 anti-personnel mine fuses, 1 rocket, 2 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and 86 23 mm shells. The center added that today's destruction operation was the seventh of its kind in Hadramawt Governorate since mid-January. It noted that MASAM continues its round-the-clock work removing mines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and unexploded ordnance at a consistent pace to ensure the safety of civilians in Yemen from these materials that pose a threat to their lives and impede their movement. The center explained that the destruction operations, documented with audio and video recordings, are part of the project's strategy to dispose of the removed or cleared materials in safe areas away from populated areas. With this operation, the total number of mines, IEDs, and unexploded ordnance destroyed by the project's teams in Hadramawt Governorate since January 17th has reached 14,109.
