On March 27, Panchari Upazila (Sub-District) coordinator of the United People’s Democratic Front (Democratic), identified as Nitidutta Chakma, was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Sutkarma Para area of Panchari Upazila (Sub-District) in Khagrachari District, reports newagebd.net. UPDF (Democratic) central organising secretary Amar Jyoti Chakma blamed a group of people belonging to the UPDF (Main) who fired indiscriminately, targeting Nitidutta and fled the scene. UPDF (Main) leaders, however, denied the accusation, saying that the killing occurred due to their internal issues. Additional law enforcers were deployed in the area after the incident.
