9th April 2026
On April 9, Police arrested two operatives identified as Akash Masih and Jablaun, linked to an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)-sponsored Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror module operating in Gurdaspur District of Punjab, reports The Tribune. Officials recovered five hand grenades, two detonators, a push-to-talk (PTT) timer with coder-decoder, a 9V battery, around one kilogram of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) material packed with nails, and a Baofeng walkie-talkie with a trigger mechanism, indicating preparation for high-impact terror attacks. Preliminary investigations suggest the module was directed by Pakistan-based Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)-linked handlers. An FIR has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Explosive Substances Act, and further investigation is underway.
