Rocket event in Manipur, Moirang Tronglaobi, Bishnupur District area, India on Tue 7th April 2026
7th April 2026
On April 7, two children were killed and their mother seriously injured after a suspected rocket attack targeted a civilian residence in Moirang Tronglaobi village in Bishnupur District of Manipur, reports India TodayNE. The projectile, believed to have been launched by suspected Kuki militants from nearby hill slopes, struck the house directly, triggering a powerful explosion. The victims were identified as a five-year-old boy and his five-month-old sister. Residents claimed the projectile was fired from a location more than three kilometres away in adjoining hill areas near Churachandpur District. Following the incident, Security Forces (SFs) intensified deployment, launched search operations in nearby hill areas, and increased surveillance across sensitive villages along the hill-valley boundary to prevent further escalation.
