Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Manipur, Manipur University, Imphal West District area, India on Sat 4th April 2026

The Kangleipak Communist Party–Military Council Progressive (KCP-MCP) claimed responsibility for a bomb blast at the Manipur University campus in Imphal West District of Manipur on April 4, reports The Sangai Express. The outfit stated that the explosion was carried out as a warning to authorities of Manipur University over alleged acts of corruption. In a statement issued on the same day, the group also reacted to a separate incident during the I-Glam Miss and Mister Manipur pageant held at MU on March 28, where a female contestant was reportedly interrupted while answering a question in the Manipuri language. The outfit demanded that the judge who allegedly disrupted the contestant and the organiser of the event surrender before the group within five days, accusing them of disrespecting the Manipuri language and “mother tongue.”
