On April 4, National Mobilization Front (NMF) said on X that its guerrilla fighters ambushed a Taliban patrol, killing two Taliban fighters, two others affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP), and injuring another, while one NMF fighter was killed and another injured, in the Dosarka Nawapas area of Sarkani District of Kunar Province. Following the attack, a Taliban Toyota Hilux vehicle with a heavy Russian Degtyaryov–Shpagin large-calibre (DShK) machine gun was completely destroyed.
