Mizzima: Four military commission soldiers were killed and three rifles and some ammunition were seized during a battle in Pyiakya town, Magwe Region, according to Pyiakya People's Defence Force, Unit-2. (Central Region Guerrilla Force – M.R.G.) reported. The M.R.G. stated in a press release today that the clash occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. yesterday (6th April).

The revolutionary force stated that on their way to attack the industrial zone gate guard, they encountered soldiers from the military commission on patrol and a battle ensued. ‘It was a surprise. We hadn't expected it, but by proceeding with caution, we were able to spot them first and gain the upper hand,’ the M.R.G's spokesperson told Mizzima.

The close-quarters battle lasted for around 15 minutes, during which four military commission soldiers were killed on the spot, while the remaining two escaped with injuries, he said. The spokesperson added that although all six guns were found after the battle, only three were taken due to security conditions, while the remaining three were not recovered.

During the fighting, the industrial zone The Central Plains Guerrilla Force has reported that although the 6th Gate provided fire support with heavy and light weapons, including 40mm and 60mm artillery, its comrades were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties.

The spokesperson said that they had heard that around 50 military commission troops had arrived at the scene of the battle and had taken the bodies away. Soldiers from the military commission at the Pyiakone industrial zone gate were reportedly arresting and searching locals, It is understood that a military plan was drawn up to confront them, and a clash occurred en route to the attack.
