22nd March 2026
A tragic shooting claimed the life of a taqueria employee in broad daylight in Culiacán, Sinaloa, right across from the city's international airport. The victim, identified as Julio César, worked at the popular "El Pipirín" taqueria located on Boulevard Aeropuerto (Aeropuerto boulevard), directly opposite the airfield. The attack unfolded around 1:20 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Armed assailants opened fire on the worker; he attempted to flee but was struck multiple times and collapsed lifeless next to the ticket booth, lying face up. Perpetrators fled the scene immediately after the gunfire. Local reports indicate this marks at least the third homicide reported in Culiacán that same Saturday, highlighting the persistent wave of targeted violence in the region. No official arrests have been announced, and authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the execution-style killing in this busy commercial and transit area.
