Armed Alert Interrupts Campaign Rally in Culiacán; Stampede Among Attendees, No Injuries Reported. The political event descended into panic after an alert that could not be confirmed. The closing campaign rally for the candidate for Trustee of Aguaruto, held in the Benito Juárez plaza in Culiacán, Sinaloa, was abruptly interrupted when an alert circulated that armed individuals were in the vicinity. The crowd reacted with a stampede. Municipal police immediately responded to the location, although, according to authorities, no evidence was found to support the presence of armed individuals in the area. The incident resulted in no injuries, according to official reports.
