Russian occupation forces are dropping new-type combined-action mines on Kherson, which look like an object wrapped in a rag.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson City Military Administration (MVA), Yaroslav Shanko .
Specialists are currently studying its characteristics. It is already known that this mine is used to damage both people and equipment.
It is claimed to have electronic control and combined action. The self-destruct time, if enabled, is still unknown.
Residents of the city are urged not to approach suspicious objects closer than 30 meters and not to touch them. If you spot them, you should immediately call 101 or 102.
The published images do not allow us to identify the exact type of mine. It is also possible that these are homemade products of the Russian military.
Last month, it became known that the occupiers are using 3D-printed anti-personnel mines codenamed "Pryanyk" to remotely mine Kherson. They are also wrapped in camouflage fabric for camouflage.
According to Volodymyr Perepelitsa, head of the explosives department of the National Police in the Kherson region, the use of improvised mines is an attempt by the Russian army to compensate for the shortage of PFM-1s, which are also known as "Lepestok".
Improvised mines are initiated electrically, so such a system is more sensitive than mechanical fuses.
"It is printed on a 3D printer, inside it contains an explosive, a detonator and what is needed for its activation. It works the same way as a PFM - by creating pressure on it. If a person steps on it, a car runs over it, the plastic bends, sometimes breaks, and an explosion occurs," Perepelytsia said.
