On 30 March 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'West' group likely by shelling and drone strikes as the most common means) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment of two mechanized brigades and two territorial defense brigades (coded to Osynovo) near Osynovo, Kharkiv. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: an armored combat vehicle, 27 vehicles, three artillery pieces, a counter-battery radar station, three ammunition depots and up to 170 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Osynovo, Oskil, Novyi Myr, Lyman, Krymki, Staryi Karavan and Svyatohirsk [Russian MoD reported 170 fatalities.
