On 28 March 2026, night, Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) launched 6 ballistic missiles and 29 drones that directly impacted Prince Sultan Air Base (Al Kharj, Ar Riyadh), injuring at least 15 US soldiers, including 5 who were seriously injured. The attack damaged US air force assets parked near the runway, including multiple refueling aircraft, 1 E-3 Sentry AWACS, and at least 1 KC-135R tanker aircraft.
