On 2 April 2026, in Hpakant town (Hpakant township, Mohnyin district, Kachin State), the Myanmar military fired heavy weapons, hit and exploded near Saung Cafe and in the Kalat Kone area of Myoma ward around 6:35 am. The attack injured 6 civilians including two children and damaged many houses. The heavy weapons were fired during the clash with the Kachin Independence Army in Hmaw Si Zar village and Hmaw Wan Gyi village on 2 April 2026 (coded separately). On the same day, the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike on the Mashi Kahtawng ward around 12:00 pm, following the clash with the Kachin Independence Army in Hmaw Si Zar village and Hmaw Wan Gyi village on 2 April 2026 (coded separately). Casualties unknown for the airstrike.
