On 29 March 2026, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq launched multiple drone attacks targeting US positions at Victory Base and the Diplomatic Support Center near Baghdad International Airport (Baghdad) as part of coordinated attacks on US bases, the Iraqi air defences intercepted at least 1 drone while others crashed within the airport perimeter, triggering sirens at Mohammed Alaa Air Base and causing no casualties. The group later claimed up to 21 drone attacks in one day, including strikes around Baghdad International Airport. There were no fatalities.
