On 2 April 2026, in Guayaquil - Ximena (Guayas), members of the Los Lobos gang threw an explosive device at a house on 27 and Medardo Angel Silva streets. The explosion damaged the house and two men sustained minor injuries from shrapnel. The homeowners stated that they had no conflicts and believe the attack was a mistake. Threatening pamphlets from the Los Lobos gang were found at the scene. There were no fatalities.
