On 1 April 2026, in Guayaquil - Ximena (Guayas), members of the Los Lobos gang detonated an explosive device outside a community police unit on 27 and Cuenca streets. The explosion damaged the infrastructure of the site but caused no injuries, as the police unit was inactive. Threatening pamphlets from the Los Lobos gang were found at the scene. There were no casualties.
