On 26 March 2026, in Kawkareik township (Kawkareik district, Kayin state), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and dropped bombs with a fighter jet at the Ah Lel Bo Te area and Asia Highway around 10 am and at the Auk Bo Te area and Asia Highway mountain area around 3 pm after clashing with the Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA) and allies near Hti Hpoe Zan village (coded separately). There were no casualties.
