On 22 March 2026, near Uribia municipality (La Guajira), unidentified perpetrators detonated an explosive device on the Cerrejon coal train railroad at kilometer 75. The explosion damaged the railroad infrastructure and led to the derailment of five cars of the train loaded with coal. There were no casualties.
