On 25 March 2026, in San Isidro (San Cayetano, Norte de Santander), suspected members of the ELN's Urban War Front detonated an explosive device as several military vehicles passed along the Western Ring Road while returning from Sardinata to the urban area of Cucuta. Five soldiers were left stunned by the blast and a civilian motorcyclist passing through the area was slightly injured. The attack is suspected to be part of ELN retaliation against security forces following recent operations in the area. There were no fatalities.
