Locals say a shooting broke out in the town of Muse, on the China-Myanmar border and controlled by the military council, after a dispute between members of the People's Militia.
The shooting took place in the Taukyar Ward of Muse on 30th March, and two people were reportedly injured. A local woman said, ‘It's the same as always in Muse. They shoot each other. We heard gunshots that night. We don't know which group it was.’
In the town, there are only the township people's militia and the Mungyal. They say two people were injured. One is seriously injured, while the other's injuries are not as severe," she said. The woman said that such shootings and fights between members of the same militia are frequent in the city of Muse, which is controlled by the military council.
On 7 November 2025, a volunteer with the rank of a captain in Musi also shot two of his subordinates with a pistol after drinking alcohol. He also shot two of his own subordinate militiamen with a pistol. In Muse, the army is present alongside its majority of subordinate militia groups, and these militias are involved in human trafficking, gambling dens, They are also groups that individually own casinos, gambling dens, and drug and prostitution dens, and pay taxes to the military.
