The KIA has captured three important outposts for the military junta's forces in the town of Phakant, Kachin State, where fighting continues to be intense, according to a military source. – KIA and allied forces have captured them, a military source told Golden Land.

The KIA and allied forces were able to attack and capture the Myawkုံ village camp, the cemetery camp, and the Swoetbom outpost yesterday, 2nd April. The source said, ‘There are ongoing clashes. After the camps were captured yesterday, the military forces withdrew from their base and, a short while later, carried out an airstrike.’ There have already been about two airstrikes today.

A ground-level military source said that during the fighting, the military council side suffered at least 15 casualties. In Phakant, fighting between the KIA and KPDF joint forces and the military council's troops also intensified again at 5 a.m. yesterday, 2nd April. Furthermore, on the same day, 2nd April, a shell landed in the town of Phakant, injuring six local residents. Revolutionary forces have urged the remaining residents of the Phakant township to remain vigilant for air raids by the military council.
