A deployment of federal and state forces resulted in the seizure of weapons and tactical equipment in the town of Villa Benito Juárez, in Navolato, according to authorities. The discovery was made during ground patrols conducted by military personnel as part of preventative measures in the area. Among the items seized were: -
2 machine guns (.50 caliber and 7.62 x 51 mm) -
10 long guns, including a .50 caliber Barrett rifle
- 1 grenade launcher attachment (40 mm caliber)
- 7 magazines
- 7,530 rounds of ammunition of various calibers
- 1 pickup truck. The evidence was turned over to the Attorney General's Office for further investigation.
