SAA event in Mexico on Thu 2nd April 2026

Four suspected hitmen were arrested in the Aeropuerto neighborhood of Culiacán, Sinaloa. Security forces from all three levels of government arrested four men in the Bachigualato sector of the Aeropuerto neighborhood in Culiacán, in an operation led by the GOES (Special Operations Group) with support from the SEDENA (Mexican Army), SEMAR (Mexican Navy), SSPC (Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection), FGR (Attorney General's Office), and the Sinaloa State Attorney General's Office. The detainees, dressed in dark clothing, were found in possession of firearms and tactical gear. According to initial investigations by authorities, they allegedly belong to a cell of the Sinaloa Cartel, specifically the Los Chapitos faction. The four men and the evidence were turned over to the appropriate authorities for legal proceedings.
