A man was executed by two hitmen in front of a traffic patrol car and just meters from the municipal building @irapuatogob. The murder has sparked public outrage after security cameras captured the traffic patrol car failing to intervene at the scene. The attack occurred at approximately 8:50 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, on Ramón Corona Street, near the corner of Hidalgo Street. The victim, preliminarily identified as Aarón Francisco "N," 35 years old, was in a gray Hyundai SUV with foreign license plates when he was intercepted by two armed men who approached on foot. The assailants fired multiple shots at the driver through the windshield and side windows, killing him instantly. After committing the crime, the perpetrators fled on foot and disappeared into the surrounding streets. The controversy escalated after the release of surveillance videos showing a municipal traffic patrol car driving right alongside the victim's vehicle at the exact moment of the shooting. Despite the proximity, the officers did not intervene or attempt to stop the gunmen, allowing them to escape without resistance. The Irapuato Secretariat of Citizen Security confirmed the death and described the incident as a "localized event." Regarding the actions of the traffic officers, the Municipal Government, headed by Lorena Alfaro of the National Action Party (PAN), reported that an internal administrative investigation has been launched against the officers in the patrol car involved.
