Twelve members of the military council were killed in a mine attack targeting vehicles patrolling to provide security for a food supply convoy on the Myingyan-Nyaung-U road section in Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region, according to the Brethren Guerrilla Force.
On March 27, at approximately 9:15 a.m., revolutionary forces ambushed a military council convoy of about 50 personnel traveling from Myingyan using a pre-positioned minefield.
Of the three military vehicles, a leading Double Cab and a Hi-jet drove directly into the minefield, resulting in powerful explosions.
As a result of the mine attack, 12 military council soldiers were killed instantly on the spot, and nine others sustained serious injuries.
The two vehicles hit by the mines were reportedly severely damaged. Following the attack, military council soldiers fired weapons and heavy artillery at random, but the revolutionary comrades were able to withdraw safely without casualties.
