On 23 March 2026, at around 05:35, an explosion occurred on the street at the residential area in Bucha, Kyiv region. Following the explosion, the police arrived to the scene, while responding to the emergency, another explosion occurred at the scene, injuring 2 police officers. Several private houses and at least 1 car were damaged. The police apprehended a 21-year-old suspect who testified that he carried out the explosions for 25 thousand UAH promised by an unknown individual on the Internet. According to investigation, the first explosive device was planted under a bench near a multi-story building. The explosion broke out windows, damaged the facade and gas networks, the second device was also nearby, and it was detonated remotely.
