On 25 March 2026, Al Shabaab fired seven mortar rounds at an AUSSOM UPDF at defensive base in Mubaarak village (Qoryooley, Lower Shabelle). At least five of the mortar shells landed in and around the base. Al Shabaab claimed to have killed 7 soldiers and injured 14 others.
