On 22 March 2026, an unidentified armed group detonated a bomb at the Sufi Madani mosque in Misratah (Misratah, West). The Madani family denied in a statement that there was a shrine inside the mosque and stated that those it had housed in the past were removed more than ten years ago. Images of the mosque showed that the site was heavily damaged by the explosion. This happened in context of suspected shrines being targeted in the past.
