Around 26 March 2026, an unidentified booby-trapped drone carrying a warhead fell in Al Shanain area near Qaryat ash Shafi (location unknown, coded as Qaryat ash Shafi, Al Basrah). Security forces cordoned off the area and EOD teams started to handle the drone, planning detonation at a later time due to bad weather. There were no casualties.
