On 26 March 2026, unidentified warplanes, likely American or Israeli (likely as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) conducted an airstrike targeting a newly established Iraqi Army drone airstrip near As Sakkar city (Al Anbar). The small airfield had been set up to monitor militant movements in western Al Anbar. There were no casualties.
