On 25 March 2026, an unidentified drone crashed in an open desert area north of North Rumaila near the Basrah-Nassriya highway (coded as Ar Rumaylah city, Al Basrah), far from oil installations, without causing material damage. Engineering teams were dispatched to secure the site and remove the drone. There were no casualties.
