Air Delivered event in Afghanistan on Mon 16th March 2026

On 16 March 2026, Pakistani military forces carried out an airstrike on a drug rehabilitation center and hospital located in the Hootkhail area of PD 9 in Kabul city (Kabul - PD9). Taliban authorities claim that around 400 people were killed and at least 250 were injured. The hospital was a 2,000-bed facility. Pakistan's information ministry rejected the Taliban authorities' claim that the facility was targeted, stating that the hospital was miles away from the intended strike location, which they said included military and 'terrorist' ammunition and equipment storage site. While the number of fatalities has not been independently verified, the Kabul Forensic Medicine Department stated that more than 100 people were killed in the airstrike.
