On 16 May 2021, the Al Quds Brigade of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad fired several mortar shells at gatherings of Israeli soldiers in Netiv Haasara (Ashqelon, HaDarom). No injuries or fatalities were reported. It is not clear if the target was hit or if the missiles were intercepted.
