On 16 March 2026, U.S. jets attacked Basij Force Salehin Brigade positions (shared with the Quds Force) and the Shahid Memar Base in Bampur (Iranshahr, Sistan and Baluchestan) in the early hours of the day, causing a large explosion and significant material destruction. It later emerged that the attack resulted in the death of 1 inmate held at the base and injuries to five others. Israel and the United States launched a joint operation codenamed 'Roaring Lion' by Israel and 'Epic Fury' by the United States on 28 February 2026. Fatalities coded as at least 1.
