On 17 March 2026, an IED of unknown origin exploded targeting the convoy of the commander of the IRG's 2nd Nation Shield Forces in Iyadh (Jardan, Shabwah) resulting in the injury of 3 of his guards and damage to the vehicle. The commander survived what was labelled as an 'assassination attempt'.
