On 17 May 2021, overnight, Israeli warplanes destroyed 15 kilometers of Hamas' underground tunnel system in northern Gaza. Israeli warplanes also struck and destroyed the main operations center of Hamas internal security forces in northern Gaza, which was a 'central part of Hamas' terror infrastructure' according to the IDF.
