On 20 March 2026, a piece of unexploded ordnance detonated near the cemetery in Albu Salem/Albu Saif village in Al Riyadh district (location unknown, coded as Nahiyat ar Riyad, Kirkuk), killing a child and injuring five to nine other people (three women and children). Police said the explosion occurred when the child tampered with the remnant. 5 to 9 injured, 1 fatality. Fatalities coded as 1 based on Rudaw.
