On 18 March 2026, an unidentified drone bearing Arabic inscriptions launched by an unidentified armed group (likely linked to Iranian-backed groups due to ongoing hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran) crashed in Akaz area of Al Kaim district (location unknown, coded as Al Qaim city, Al Anbar), in the Iraqi army's 7th Division, 78th Brigade, 1st Battalion AOR. Army engineering teams later detonated the drone in place. There were no casualties.
