On 18 March 2026, unknown forces (likely linked to Iranian-backed groups due to ongoing hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran) conducted drone strikes targeting Peshmerga Unit 70 headquarters in Sulaymaniyah City (Al Sulaymaniyah). Drone attacks on Peshmerga forces in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah that day injured a total of 3 Peshmerga personnel. There were no fatalities.
