On 17 March 2026, unidentified warplanes, likely American or Israeli (likely as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) conducted airstrikes targeting the Tribal Mobilization Forces 65th Brigade headquarters in area of Tharthar city (Al Anbar). A Lt. Col., commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 65th Brigade, was injured. There were no fatalities.
