On 17 March 2026, unidentified warplanes likely American or Israeli (likely as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) targeted a house likely rented by the embassy of Iran in Al Jadriyya area of Baghdad city (Baghdad) with three missiles, causing fire. The house belongs to a leader of the Popular Mobilization Forces Sayyid al Shuhada Brigade (Abu Ala'a Al Wala'i). Several persons were injured and 4 to 6 were killed including 2 Iranian military advisors. Main target was 'Nasiri' managing Iran's economic file in Iraq, along with another Iranian responsible for the IRGC file in Iraq. Fatalities coded as 4.
