On 18 March 2026, US and Israeli warplanes (coded as MFOUS as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) conducted an airstrike targeting multiple Popular Mobilization Forces positions in Al Kaim district (locations unknown, coded as Al Qaim city, Al Anbar), including: the headquarters of Al Anbar Operations Commander Qasim Muslih, headquarters and security sites of the 45th Brigade (Kataib Hezbollah) 2nd Regiment. A separate strike targeted Shaheed Haidar checkpoint in Al Kaim district run by Kataib Hezbollah (after the Iraqi army and police forces had withdrawn) injuring several people. Another strike targeted a PMF operations headquarters inside the base of the 7th Division of the Iraqi army. 3 members of the PMF were killed and several injured. 3 fatalities.
