On 17 March 2026, US Apache helicopter (coded as MFOUS as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) conducted five airstrikes targeting the Popular Mobilization Forces 40th Brigade (Imam Ali Brigades) 3rd Regiment's compound in 'Jard' area of Dibis district (location unknown, coded as Dibis city, Kirkuk), at a facility shared with the 8th Division of the Iraqi Army, causing material damage. Earlier a drone, likely American or Israeli (likely as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) targeted a site of the PMF 40th Brigade in the same area. Security forces cordoned off the site and opened an investigation. There were no casualties.
