Mortar Bomb event in Sagaing Region, Myinmu area, Myanmar on Mon 23rd March 2026

On March 23, at approximately 7:30 AM, a military column of about 30 personnel from Gway Pin Taw Village in Myinmu Township headed toward the Monywa-Mandalay road to collect extortions. The PLA and allied forces launched a coordinated ambush between Gway Pin Taw Village and Bo Min Gyi Kin Village.

The clash lasted about 10 minutes, with five members of the terrorist military killed on the spot. While the wounded were being transported to Myinmu Hospital, three more died, including a military officer. As military reinforcements arrived at the scene, further fighting broke out. The terrorist forces stationed in Gway Pin Taw Village provided covering fire by launching at least ten 60mm mortar shells, resulting in one injury among the allied revolutionary comrades.
